Switch to Light theme: Go to Window > Themes > Light, then restart Studio.​
- Enable Scroll Lock and Tree View in Log Viewer for better navigation while viewing logs.​
- Adjust system theme: System Settings > Appearance > Dark if OS-level conflicts occur.​
- Export logs (File > Export Execution Log) and view externally in a Dark-friendly editor like VS Code.

Primary Fix (Theme Reset):

Go to Window > Themes > Light and restart Katalon Studio

Go to Window > Themes > Dark and restart Katalon Studio again
This forces the theme engine to properly re-render all UI components, including the Log Viewer.
Alternative Workaround:
-
Go to Preferences > Appearance and manually adjust the theme settings

If the issue persists, try Preferences > General > On next starting application → Select “Open a clean session” and restart

your issue resolved?
I believe this is a known issue to Katalon team, but I don’t see it anywhere in their known defects list, i strongly believe they should include.
Also I personally don’t think there is any workaround for this.
I bet none of the guys providing solutions have actually tried themselves if the solution they are pasting here (maybe from some AI) actually works, (but i could be wrong here.).
I did try all the given solutions and none of them actually work.
@support.squad @nghi.phan can you confirm if this is some known bug in Katalon?

I checked Katalon Studio v10.3.2 and found that the Log Viewer had dark background with the dark theme selected. It is fine.
I checked Katalon Studio v10.4.0 and found that the Log Viewer had white background with the dark theme selected. It is bad.
Clearly, this is an outstanding bug, which is there since v10.4.0.

Just an information.
In Aug 2025, the v10.3.0 had a serious bug in the Log Viewer. No message was displayed in the Log Viewer.
This bug was fixed at the v10.3.2.
I guess Katalon worked on the Log Viewer a bit more and made some internal change at v10.4.0, which caused the Log Viewer to have white background even in the dark theme selected.

@depapp I totally agree with you. Lately I’m feeling that human touch has gone down. There should be some restrictions on AI generated replies but lets see.

I don’t think that this Forum could add any kind of AI feature that can detect if a reply is AI-generated or not in the hope that we could stop AI-generated posts. I would not wait for it.

where I proposed to add “Thumbs down emoji” in the Forum UI.
I would click the “Thumbs down” if I find a post, regardless if it is AI-generated or not (who knows?), which does not help others much.
