Q1: What is Katalon True Platform?
Katalon True Platform is Katalon’s unified, AI-augmented software quality platform. It consolidates automation (Studio), test management (formerly TestOps), execution environments (Runtime Engine), TestCloud, and the embedded AI assistant (Katalon AI) into one governed platform experience.
Q2: Why is Katalon making this change?
Katalon is moving to this model to unify testing workflows, execution, analytics, and AI assistance in one platform. This helps QA teams reduce tool fragmentation, spend less time on repetitive maintenance, and deliver higher software quality with more speed, visibility, and confidence.
Q3: Will my existing automation be disrupted?
No. Your existing automation can continue to run as it does today. The upgrade to True Team is designed to protect your current work, while giving your team access to more capabilities in one platform.
Q4: Who should I contact if I have questions about my specific account?
Your Customer Success Manager is your main point of contact for account-specific guidance, upgrade questions, and next steps. They can walk you through how your current licenses are being upgraded, your assigned seat count, and your renewal terms.
Q5: How do I manage an upgrade or renewal?
Your renewal will reflect the consolidated True Platform packaging. You can log in to your account portal to view subscription details at the Subscription Management site, including the number of True seats assigned to your account.
Q6: How is TestCloud capacity allocated?
TestCloud Web/Mobile Browser sessions are included based on your seat count: 1 session for 1–5 seats, 2 sessions for 6–10 seats, and 3 sessions for 11–15 seats.
[License] Q7: What is a True Team license?
A True Team license is one user license in the new True Team package.
It gives one person access to the capabilities included in True Team instead of buying and managing separate products individually, such as:
- Studio
- Manual Testing, Test Management, Reporting & Analytics (formerly TestOps)
- Test Execution Local & Cloud (formerly KRE & Test Cloud)
- Katalon AI
[License] Q8: How is my account upgraded into True Team seats?
Your current subscription value is mapped to the True Team seat model using the same ARR principle - more platform value, same investment. Each seat is priced at $2000 with full access to True Platform. Where the upgrade math would otherwise reduce your access, Katalon honors the difference and ensures you are not unfairly disadvantaged.

Previously, you had:
1 KSE = $2,199
1 KRE = $1,749
1 TestOps = $1,000
Total = $4,948
With True Team, each license is valued at $2,000. So: $4,948 Ă· $2,000 = 2.47, which rounds up to 3 True Team licenses
Result: You receive 3 True Team licenses

No, mixing True Team and True Enterprise licenses within a single account is not permitted.
To ensure your organization is governed by consistent administrative rules, security protocols, and data retention policies, your entire account must be managed under one unified tier. This consolidated approach prevents governance conflicts and ensures a streamlined experience for all users. You should select the single edition that best aligns with your team’s current scale and support requirements.
