We’re opening this thread so you can ask anything about earning your Katalon Practitioner Certification. If you’ve used Katalon Studio, you’re probably already close to getting it.
What is the Practitioner Certification?
It’s a hands-on credential that validates you can use Katalon Studio to build and run automated tests in real-world scenarios. No compulsory coursework or multiple-choice exams.
Instead, you will get certified by using Katalon Studio (either Free or Enterprise version) to meet specific pre-defined requirements, such as creating 50 test cases, running 75 test executions, and so on.
Stuck or don’t know how to meet certain requirements?
Need learning resources?
Wonder about data updates or certification expiration?
How long would it take to complete?
Leave your questions below. Every question counts as long as it relates to the certification or program. @viet.nguyen will do his best to answer.

I am new to Katalon and planning to take Practitioner Certificate. Is there a checklist or roadmap you’d recommend before attempting the cert? Also, I’m coming from a manual testing background. Will this cert help me transition to automation confidently? Thank you
Hi @DucLa. If you’re new to Katalon, I suggest you start with this beginner’s learning path. It will guide you on how to quickly automate UI tests with Katalon Studio. Then, after completing the path, you can join and get the Practitioner Certification.
After getting the certification, you will be confident in using Katalon to create reusable simple tests and run them regularly. Of course, it’s not the end point, you will need to continue to learn about other concepts, methodologies, and stuff to advance and be more efficient in test automation.
@nghi.phan If you are new to the domain, I suggest the same learning path I suggested above to get used to Katalon basic features and how they can be leveraged to get started with automation quickly.
Once you’re equipped with sufficient knowledge about the tool’s how-tos, you can get the Practitioner quite fast, around 1-2 weeks.
