Katalon Studio 11.2.0 dropped on May 27, 2026. Here’s what changed.

What’s new

The AI Assistant now handles multiple conversations and keeps a history panel, so you can flip between sessions without losing your place. Handy if you’re working across different projects or test suites.

Smart Mobile Recorder got an Advanced Configuration screen. Before saving captured objects, you can now review how they’re being identified and adjust locator strategies or attributes on the spot — rather than discovering the problem later.

Web Recorder Plus gets the same Advanced Configuration screen — review, edit, and adjust object attributes and locator strategies directly within your recording session before saving.

Other improvements

  • Drag and drop files into the AI Assistant chat.
  • Failure reports now include a Category Classification section — makes spotting patterns across a test run a lot easier.
  • TestCloud Tunnel works with Mobile Native Apps now, not just browsers.
  • AI-generated artifacts (test cases, suites, keywords) show a small indicator so you know their origin.
  • You can rename keywords and edit parameters without leaving the recorder.
  • MCP tools have been consolidated into fewer, better-described tools.
  • Self-Healing now prioritizes element screenshots when choosing locators.
  • Chrome 148 and Edge 148 are supported.

Bug fixes (23 total)

A few that might matter to you:

  • katalonc on macOS wasn’t launching due to a permissions issue. Fixed.
  • KRE 11.1.3 introduced a JavaScript selector parsing error. Also fixed.
  • Map-type variables in execution profiles can now actually be saved.
  • Chrome/Edge 148 recording failures from a DevTools Protocol change are resolved.
  • Masked variable values were leaking into logs when test cases called each other. That’s patched.
  • Linux editor views (Test Cases, Test Objects, etc.) weren’t rendering properly. Now they do.
  • waitForElementNotVisible was returning before the element disappeared. It waits now.
  • KeywordUtil.markFailedAndStop() wasn’t marking the test step as failed, only the case. Both are marked now.

Deprecations

Some MCP tools got replaced: createTestCase/updateTestCase → writeTestCase, and getTestCaseScript → readFile. Review the full list in the release notes before updating your integrations.
