Katalon Studio’s latest update is out. Sơn Huỳnh (Support Engineer, Katalon) walks through what’s new in Katalon Studio 11.3 and 11.4 — from a faster, more direct Mobile Recorder to saving your AI-generated API tests straight into the repository.

In this episode:
▸ Mobile Recorder Interactive Mode — more direct device interaction, faster targeting, now officially out of Beta
▸ API Test Case Generation — generate, review, and save AI-generated API tests straight into your repository
▸ Test Case-Level Parallel Execution & Reporting — run test cases in parallel, each with its own detailed report
▸ Thinking & Planning Display in Agent Mode — clearer visibility into what the AI agent is doing as it works

Plus honourable mentions.

  1. Mobile Recorder Interactive Mode
Good to see this maturing into MA. Most tools like Kobiton, browsertack, Lamba mobile inspector and more have started providing Appium Inspector-style flows, which offer the direct device interaction, so Katalon closing the gap was expected — but still a solid usability win for mobile authors.
  1. API Test Case Generation
Interesting one — need to actually try it. Will review and share feedback.
  1. Test Case-Level Parallel Execution & Reporting
Cautiously optimistic. I’ve had inconsistent results running test suite/collection parallel mode via the Katalon agent on schedule — so I’ll be testing this specifically for stability before trusting it in CI. Curious if this rework addresses those issues. It will help me, my team and projects, if it works in 11.4.0. will test
  1. Thinking & Planning Display in Agent Mode
Already using this — genuinely helpful for understanding what the agent is doing instead of treating it as a black box. good one
