[Random Tuesday] Does your emoji really mean what you meant to others?

Found the article below whilst browsing through the Straight Dope Message Board…

Different generations interpret certain emojis differently, while I would use the skull :skull: emoji to respond to something funny i.e. “I’m dead :skull:” → dying from laughter, the older generations may have a different opinion on its usage.

Another thing is that an emoji can carry different meanings. For example, we would use the :eggplant: emoji to represent an eggplant (or aubergine for you Brits) when we talk about cooking or gardening. But if the conversation is about dating, or even s*x, then said emoji suddenly takes on a more phallic connotation (I will never look at eggplants nor bananas the same away again) :face_with_peeking_eye:

Were there any instances of you using an emoji that was misinterpreted by someone else?
