Hi all, :wave:

Today we are releasing the August 18, 2023 update to the Katalon Platfrom which bumped up Katalon Studio’s version to 8.6.6, and some bug fixes and enhancements as below… :point_down:

1. Author

  • We have upgraded WebDriverManager to version 5.4.1 to allow in-app upgrade webdriver to Chrome version 115 and newer.
  • We have added Edge 115 and Chrome 116 compatibility.

1.1. Bug Fixes

  • Unable to update Webdriver to Chrome 115 using Tools > Update Webdrivers > Chrome. This issue happened due to the change of Chrome on July 13, 2023, when Chrome released Chrome for Testing, a new Chrome flavor that specifically targets web app testing and automation use cases.
  • [Intermittent] Unable to start Katalon Studio 8.6.5 on some Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines with an error: Failed to load the JNI shared library.

2. Analyze

With this release, we are bringing more AI capabilities to you starting with AI Insights (Beta), which gives you an overview of your testing quality and activities, as well as pointing out problematic areas that need attention via the three action items revolve around: release readiness, common errors, and test stability.

I used Katalon studio 7.7.2 due to the chrome driver change I switched to 8.6.6
I’m facing the following issue

when I open my project in Katalon studio 7.7.2 the script view shows the below code

when I open the same project file in Katalon studio 8.6.6 the script view shows the below code by default new version adds the ExcelKeyword.getExcelSheet() method to the existing code and it fails the scripts.

please use the following code to reproduce the same

  1. create a project in 7.7.2 and save it in a test case

  2. open the project file in 8.6.6

sheet01=findTestData(‘path of Data File in data filesfolder’).getValue(‘columName’,rowNumber )
println(sheet01)
