Katalon Studio 11.7.0 is out: hybrid mobile testing, BDD with AI, and Postman environments

Hi everyone,

Katalon Studio 11.7.0 was released today, October 28. Here’s what’s new.

Hybrid mobile app testing is now officially supported

You can now record and run native steps and WebView steps in the same test. You no longer have to split a hybrid app flow across separate tests.

End-to-end BDD with AI

The new writeStepDefinition tool in the Katalon Studio MCP Server lets your AI assistant write the feature file and the step definitions, and then run the tests. You don’t need to do anything by hand between those steps.

Postman environments come in with your collection

When you import a Postman collection, Studio now brings its environment variables too, such as base URLs and auth tokens. You no longer need to set them up again by hand.

More control over AI

  • True Platform admins can now turn off all AI features in Studio, including AI that uses people’s own API keys.
  • Project AI settings now have one main switch.

Katalon AI Assistant updates

  • In Agent mode, Katalon AI Assistant now suggests follow-up prompts.
  • You can override the mobile app used for Test Cloud runs.
  • You can set project-level credentials for the True Platform MCP server.

Faster to start and search

  • Studio starts 7 to 10 seconds faster on Windows VMs.
  • Large projects load and search faster.

Also in this release: better mobile reliability, accessibility improvements, security upgrades, support for TestRail legacy fields, and bug fixes. 37 of those fixes were requested by you, our users.

Before you upgrade: Smart Wait has changed

Smart Wait now waits for elements to be ready. Network wait is deprecated. If your WebUI tests depend on network wait, check your wait settings after you upgrade.

Full details are in the Katalon Studio 11.7.0 release notes.
