Katalon Runtime Engine - Floating license

I’ve searched the forum for information and read the official docs and I’m still confused. Let me explain the scenario I have:

I am one QA Engineer that creates all the tests for two separate teams - one is the product team and the other is the data engineering team. I am part of the product team however the data engineering team does some testing.

I have tests in a single test suite for the data team. I have tests in a separate test suite for the product team. Each team will execute their own tests using the KRE CLI.

I execute the product team tests and some other DE team member will execute the data test suite – using the KRE CLI. DE team does not need KSE license because none of them will be creating/maintaining the tests.

Do we need only one KRE floating license that can be used by both teams to run each test suite in parallel or do we need two KRE floating licenses?

Thanks!

Hello Sedens, let me bring your questions to our support team, stay tuned for more updates ^^

You need 2 KRE licenses. 1 KRE license corresponds to one concurrent session. You cannot use 1 KRE license to run 2 sessions parallely.

N sessions = N licenses

Ok just so I understand:
We cannot run the tests at the same time but we can at separate times using one KRE license?
For example, data team runs the tests in the morning between 9am-12 and the product team runs the tests in the afternoon 1pm-5pm? Would that work?

Katalon is grimey… to run 2 tests paralelly, you need 2 licenses…. but you can run these tests one after another with 1 license.
