I don’t see an option to download the free version of Katalon Studio on the official Katalon website. I found one on GitHub, but I’m not sure if it’s safe?
Could someone tell me where to get Katalon Studio Free v.9.7.6.?

Not only you, all of the Katalon users aren’t sure. You should take any risk of using the previous versions.
It seems that Katalon wants all of the users to use ONLY the latest versions. I think that they would never commit anything about the previous versions.

Read the following post by a Katalon staff:
The official site publishes only one binary of KSE to download.
Once your 30 days trial expires, the binary will continue providing the restricted features, which you may regard as the Free version.
