Git connection to Azure DevOps is not saved and cannot connect

I have a git repo in Azure DevOps. I can connect the first time. The second time it prompts me again with a read only name that is incorrect. I cannot override the name and connect to git.
Details:
Initial connection is OK

Now when I push changes, I get this prompt:

However, the user name is wrong
The user name is read only. I cannot change it.
Therefore I cannot log in.
Please help.
BTW, I set in the settings remember password and it did not.
