Why does Katalon not find parts of my Windows Application?

Hi all,

I just started using Katalon to see if it is a usable tool for testing our Windows Application. The fact that it is a windows application makes googling/searching difficult, because I keep getting results for WebUI. Having said that, my apologies if it is answered somewhere already.

If I use the recorder to find the elements, it does not always find everyting that’s there. I’ll try to give an example here with screenshots.

It does find this button; but not the dropdown thats under it.

So I can also not make an object of it. I hope this is enough to help, otherwise please let me know and I’ll add more.

Welcome to our community. Sorry for my late response. Can you please try Object Spy? If this works, I think there might be some loading problem with Record.

Hi @Elly_Tran, thanks for your reply. The spy doesn’t go deeper than the dropdown arrow either;

Hi,

what do you mean by not going deeper? Do you action that click and receive any error?

I mean that the dropdown has a lot of options, but I don’t see those options in the in Object Spy.
The options are the ‘BAG’, ‘Beheer’, …, ‘WOZ Registratie’

But I don’t see them in the Object Spy, there the tree in the ‘All objects screen’ just goes to the initial dropdown Arrow:
