Q: The act of eating raw salmon with sushi was actually spearheaded by which country?

The correct answer is Norway.

Salmon sushi could not be found on menu cards in Japan until the 1990’s. Before the 1990’s, salmon was regarded as a garbage fish by the Japanese, which you only ate cured, fully pan-fried or grilled. Salmon was used to fill out cheap meals. It was never used in the traditional Edo-mae style of sushi or eaten raw because of the Pacific salmon’s tendency for carrying infections by parasites.

Meanwhile, in the 1970’s, Norway had begun commercial salmon farming. However, they had a decreasing salmon consumption domestically. Salmon was filling their freezers across the country. Norway was looking for opportunities for a new market outside their borders by the late 1980’s. Japan stood out as an ideal market for Norwegian salmon.

Q: If you have ever gotten lost in the Perfumes section of a shopping mall or department store, then you should have seen the words Eau de Parfum (EDP) and Eau de Toilette (EDT) got thrown around quite a lot. What is the difference between them?

The correct answer is that EDP has a higher concentration of fragrance oils than EDT.

Eau de Parfum (EDP): Typically contains around 15-20% concentration of fragrance oils. This higher concentration makes EDP stronger and longer-lasting compared to EDT. It can last on the skin for about 4-5 hours or more.

Eau de Toilette (EDT): Generally has a lower concentration of fragrance oils, usually between 5-15%. Because of this, EDTs are lighter and more suitable for frequent application throughout the day. They typically last about 2-3 hours on the skin.

You can refer to the image below for the difference between the different types of fragrances…

The correct answer is Low-Power Compression-Attached Memory Module.

Q: How do vinyl records produce sound?

The correct answer is by tracking grooves with a needle to produce vibrations.

Vinyl records produce sound through a mechanical process. The record has grooves that are etched into its surface, which contain the audio information. When a vinyl record spins on a turntable, a needle (or stylus) follows these grooves. The needle vibrates according to the variations in the groove, and these vibrations are then converted into electrical signals by the cartridge. These signals are amplified and sent to speakers, producing sound.

Watch the video below to learn how vinyl records and vinyl players work together to produce sounds:
