Hello, I’m Darshan. I’m currently using the Katalon TestCloud Free Trial plan, but I am unable to integrate TestCloud with Katalon Studio.
I am getting the error:
“Failed to integrate with TestCloud. You have no TestCloud license.”
So, this way, I cannot use the run cross-browser test execution in Katalon Studio with TestCloud environments.
Katalon TestCloud integration requires both an active Katalon Studio Enterprise (KSE) license/trial and a TestCloud license/trial. The Free Trial provides 3 TestCloud sessions for 30 days upon first login to KSE, but needs proper activation and project selection. Ensure you’re using KSE (not the free version) and log in via “Log in from Browser” to auto-activate the trial.
Setup Steps
In Katalon Studio, go to Project > Settings > Katalon Platform (or click the Katalon button in the toolbar).
Tick Enable Katalon Platform Integration and Enable TestCloud Integration.
Select the correct Organization and Project with active TestCloud access (must have at least 1 TestOps full license per account).
Click Apply & Close. Success shows "Integrate with TestCloud successfully!"
Troubleshooting
Verify license status in Help > Katalon Studio License or TestOps > Settings > License Management.
Wrong project/organization often causes this; recreate or switch projects if needed.
Contact Katalon Support (support@katalon.com) for TestOps license grant or trial issues
Alternatives
Use local browsers or upgrade to paid TestCloud plans for more sessions.
Your organization has at least 1 TestOps full license assigned
The license is active and not expired
You have access to the organization with the TestCloud trial
Step 3: Verify Project Access
In Katalon Studio, go to Project > Settings > Katalon Platform
Ensure you’re selecting a Project from an Organization that has an active TestCloud subscription or trial
Verify you have access permissions to the selected project
Step 4: Re-enable TestCloud Integration
Click the Katalon Platform button in the main toolbar
Check both:
✓ Enable Katalon Platform Integration
✓ Enable TestCloud Integration
Select the correct Organization and Project from the dropdowns
Click Apply & Close
Key Considerations
Important Distinctions:
TestCloud Free Trial alone is NOT sufficient for Katalon Studio integration
You need Katalon Studio Enterprise (not Community edition)
Your account must have at least 1 TestOps full license to enable TestCloud integration
The organization you select must have an active TestCloud subscription or trial
Common Issues:
Selecting a project from an organization without TestCloud license
Using Katalon Studio Community edition instead of Enterprise
Account lacking TestOps full license (even with TestCloud trial)
Next Steps
If you’ve verified all licenses and still encounter the error:
Contact Katalon Support — The documentation states: “In case your account doesn’t have a TestOps full license, please contact Katalon Support Team to grant you one.”
Verify your Free Trial includes all components — Confirm that your TestCloud Free Trial includes the necessary TestOps and Studio Enterprise components
this usually happens when Katalon thinks your project is trying to use TestCloud, even if you did not mean to.
A couple of things I have seen cause this:
Check your execution settings
Go to Project > Settings > Execution. Make sure TestCloud is not selected anywhere as the execution environment. Sometimes it gets switched by accident, especially after importing a project or switching profiles.
Look at the Run Configuration
If you are running from a Test Suite or CI, double check the run config. If it says something like TestCloud or cloud execution, Katalon will try to validate a license and throw that error.
Plugin / version mismatch
I have also seen this after upgrading Katalon Studio. Try restarting Studio, then go to Help > About and confirm you are logged in with the right account. If you are on the free plan, TestCloud will always fail.
Quick check: are you actually trying to run on TestCloud, or just local browser/mobile? And are you running from Studio UI or from command line / CI?
