Why is it that when I switch from Keyword to Debug view, I then lose the debugging toolbar, such as Step Into, Step Over, Resume etc? I don’t see a way to customize the toolbar ribbon to bring this back, so for years I’ve just toggled to/from Debug mode each time I wanted to check on variables and then step to the next line of code.
I then thought to use F6, but oddly enough this doesn’t even work in Keyword view either, even though hovering over the Step Over button shows it as a shortcut. What on earth am I missing here?!

Thanks @Elly_Tran but while the Katalon Docs says that the debug toolbar should be present in debug mode, this is not the case. Here’s what the doc says…

I have the usual options under the debug button…
I am using version 9.6.0 (build 217).
Note that my issue is only when I’m in the Debug perspective that I don’t see the debug toolbar. It is present in the Keyword perspective. For this reason I have to keep switching perspectives in order to track variables step by step.

There is a little icon in debug mode, named Link with Debug View, that looks like this:
It is only visible on the Breakpoints tab.
I clicked it and the options appeared in the header of katalon like this:
If I navigate to the
Variables tab, or Expressions, it stays there. If I navigate back to Keyword view it disappears, but still there in Debug view.
Maybe this helps

Thanks for the suggestion, that’s really interesting that the behavior works like that for you. Sadly, while this adds a few more icons into my toolbar, the debug stepping icons are not among them.
What’s the Katalon case number and we’ll follow up?
