I seem to be having an error everytime I start recording with Firefox, items are not getting captured only firefox is launched. Seems to be working fine with chrome

I am facing the same issue. In Chrome, whilst I can see it is recognising the objects, the capturing using ALT + ` is non-responsive (this was also an issue for me in the previous version 5.4.1 as well.
I redownloaded and my issue solved itself hope you get to fix yours
