🕵🏻 Elly’s Learning Journey: Week 3 – Getting Cozy with Objects

Hey there, testing troops!

Feeling like I’m on an epic quest here. Why so quiet, though? No love for your buddy? Just kidding —I’m still fired up for Week 3, so let’s dive into the thrills and spills of… testing with objects!

:spiral_calendar: Week 3: Test with Objects

New week, new knowledge bombs! This time, I tackled the course “Test Authoring With Katalon: Creating and Maintaining Test Objects.” Honestly, Katalon is flexing so hard with its automation powers, I’m floored.

:dart: Key Takeaways:

  • Understanding Test Objects: Now I know where these little test objects live and how Katalon pulls them out of its hat with tricks like XPath, Attributes, CSS, and even images! And Auto-generated XPath? Talk about magic!
  • Spy Web vs. Manual: Sure, Spy is cool, but not better than Recording. Less work for me, and I’m all about that life! Plus, Katalon gives us the option to tweak if we’re feeling fancy manually.
  • Self-Healing Tests: This feature had me like :exploding_head:. Katalon’s like, “Relax, if your web code changes, I got this.” It finds and fixes broken elements, then politely asks us to approve. Sweet, right?

 This Week’s “Are You Serious?” Moment:

  • All. The. Knowledge. It’s like diving into a deep pool of testing tools: recording, spying, creating test objects, self-healing… I’m officially in the deep end! Send floaties. :ring_buoy:

:dart: Next Week’s Battle Plan:

:raising_hand_woman: Share Your Wisdom!

If you’re also wrangling Katalon Academy or you’ve already conquered this course, spill the beans! How do you deal with scripting headaches? Any life-saving resources for test automation you’re hiding?

Catch you next week, brave souls!
