Hi Community members! ![]()
We’re excited to kick off the Katalon Community 2025 Year-End Awards by announcing our first award category:
Community Solution Contributor
This award celebrates members who regularly show up to help others — answering questions, sharing practical fixes, and jumping in when someone’s stuck and needs support.
We had no shortage of great candidates this year, but @Depapp truly stood out. Over the past year, he’s been active on the forum for 343 days, read 4,287 topics and posts, shared 253 replies, received 399 likes, and contributed 9 accepted solutions. That level of consistency and generosity makes a real difference for the community.
To say thank you for Depa’s dedication and impact, we’re happy to award him $100 as a small token of our appreciation.
We also had a chance to catch up with Depa to hear more about his experience and what being part of the Katalon Community means to him.

What are the first things you usually do when you visit our forum?
“I usually check the latest unanswered or newly posted questions, especially those related to test automation issues. If I see a topic I’m familiar with, I try to jump in and help as soon as I can.”
What motivates you to support others in the community?
“I’ve been in situations where I was stuck and learned a lot from the community myself. Helping others feels like a way to give back, and I also enjoy learning together by discussing real problems.”
What do you hope to see more of in the Katalon Community in 2026?
“I hope to see more discussions based on real-world experiences, practical problem-solving, and genuine knowledge sharing. It would also be great to continue encouraging meaningful human interactions, where answers come from personal experience rather than responses that can easily be found elsewhere, such as AI-generated answers. The true value of a forum lies in real conversations and shared experiences.”
How long have you been a member of the forum, and what’s the most memorable topic you’ve participated in or created?
“I joined the Katalon forum in September 2024 after facing an issue related to BDD. I didn’t expect so many community members to step in and support me until the issue was fully resolved. That first topic I created has become the most memorable one for me, and it also turned out to be the top topic among all the topics I’ve created on the forum.”
What are your top three pieces of advice for community members when they run into technical challenges?
“First, don’t be afraid to ask questions, every question matters.
Second, explain the problem clearly, including what you’ve tried so far.
Third, keep an open mind to different solutions and learn from the discussion.”
What advice would you give to members who hope to become a Guru like you?
“I don’t think of myself as someone special. I just try to help whenever I can and learn along the way. Stay curious, be patient, and support others sincerely. If you focus on contributing and learning, recognition will come naturally.”
Thank you, Depa, for being such a thoughtful and generous part of the Katalon Community!
