Hello,
I would like some clarification about the new pricing plan

My goal is to use only some KSE enterprise and KRE license withtout using the platform.

If i am not mistaken I have to use KSE standalone. But am I required to have my own license manager or can I still use the online activation ?

We are a small team and use Katalon studio from the last few months. Suddenly, it pops up and requests Git integration from v8.5.0 (platform edition).

I’m not using Git. is there any way to use Katalon without Git?

@rpgachathumal perhaps using the standalone edition is more suitable for your use cases.

I am still a bit confused about what features are available and what not compared with Platform edition and I am not sure about what licensing type is needed.
Cannot test enterprise features since I have only free account, but for me Katalon Standalone 8.5.0 simply worked same as previous versions, no Git integration needed etc.

Hi all,

With the new release of our Katalon Platform today Oct 17, we have resolved the problem of your activation message: “This package is incompatible with your license”. You can all now download the KS standalone version within TestOps: https://testops.katalon.io/

I originally had the need to purchase products, but your promotion of the platform edition made me worry about the standalone edition in the future. Because of corporate security policies, our custom git cannot provide access to external organizations. And according to the company’s regulations, our code is not allowed to be uploaded to any external platform.

Are you judging which version to advance based on the number of users of the platform edition and the standalone edition? Based on the current download information and new accounts, I think your current strategy is to focus on the platform edition.

Below are some of my questions about the product:

  1. Is there a solution for when new accounts registered after September 21 cannot be logged in to the standalone edition? Is there an approximate resolution time?
  2. And does Katalon have a plan for the automation for mac apps using Mac2Driver integrated with Appium?

Thank you for your questions. For the strategy question, I would provide later.

As I shared earlier, we are providing an option to download KS standalone version via TestOps or Katalon Studio Free Download | Katalon and with this version you are not required to have Git integration. If you logged in after Sep 21, 2022, you are using the Katalon Platform by default. However, you can cancel the platform subscription by following these steps here https://docs.katalon.com/docs/administer/administration-tasks/subscription-management/katalon-platform-subscription/cancel-katalon-platform-subscription#ariaid-title1.

Please find the following information for more clarification from our side:

1. Standalone support

At Katalon, we understand that every quality team is different in budget, size, and maturity, and the entire platform may not be for them at the moment. Our commitment to our community is to continue supporting Katalon Studio’s standalone edition. We don’t have any plans to sunset Katalon Studio, on the contrary, our future roadmap includes the continuous improvement of both standalone and platform editions of Katalon Studio.

If you need to use the standalone version of Katalon Studio Enterprise, you can do so along with Katalon Runtime Engine for test execution, and use the platform (TestOps) as your account manager. However, keep in mind that this approach comes with limitations. Users won’t be able to take advantage of all the benefits of the platform, including:

  • Leverage TestOps to manage, schedule, and get insights into the testing process and release readiness.
  • Gain immediate valuable insights from test results. Get full visibility on what is going on in the testing pipeline by leveraging advanced reports and monitoring.
  • Enhance efficiency and increase collaboration. Maximize resource utilization and prioritize properly by leveraging effective planning and scheduling mechanisms.
  • Future enhancements and advanced platform features.

While, for now, a standalone Studio may be all you need to succeed, we have designed the Katalon Platform keeping in mind that your business will continue to mature. We believe that as you scale, the best way to manage quality is through a modern, fully integrated, and comprehensive software quality platform.

2. Flexble options of Katalon Platform usage

The Katalon platform is offered in two different deployment options:

  • Cloud-enabled. SaaS option with support for Studio Enterprise (platform edition), Katalon Runtime Engine, TestCloud and Visual testing.
  • On-premises where users will have the following options:
    1. KSE and KRE on-premises with account management handled by the platform (TestOps)
    2. KSE and KRE on-premises with account management handled by an on-premise license manager.
    3. Full Katalon platform deployed on-premise (Future).

i want scroll to text , i use Mobile.scrollToText() this method , but not useful ,scroll to my expected text , will scroll continue.
so i use appium driver package a scrollUntilVisible() method , reslove this issue
can you tell me Why is there this problem? Can you share the source code of the method encapsulated by katalon?

And, Can we have such a method → scrollToElement(Testobject)
