Is it possible to have Katalon verify Database Data after a web test? For example, I use Katalon to fill out form Data from a website and submit the form. That part will work fine, but how can I verify the backend data captured successfully within Katalon?

You have to make a conection to the db, send a query and get the result of that query, I did before but actually I dont have the example, but is posible.
