Can you guys try deleting .project file in project’s folder and try again? Looks like the content of this file is incorrect therefore there will be an issue upon opening the project.

I am also getting the same error as Parvati (the NullPointerException), did anyone try deleting the .project file as suggested above? Did that work? I have been unable to open my project since we put it into sourcetree, and onto the build server. The details part of the error message reads “Cannot invoke method close() on null object”. Is anyone else seeing this or does anyone have a solution? I really appreciate any help. Thank you.
I had same issue after getting the code from git.It seams that with latest version Katalon 5.6.1 this issue occurs.I tried with an older version of Katalon 5.5.0 and the issue is gone.

Update: I had the incorrect link, it was 64-5.5.zip…but my project is still not opening even after reverting to version 5.5, does anyone have any other ideas? I am getting the same NullPointerException error… thanks

Quick update, with using version 5.5, I was able to open my project when I opened Katalon with the “Run as Administrator” option.

The same project still works fine with Katalon 5.5

Hello,
One of my testers is getting the ResourceException error as well, but in the details it states an invalid project description. I have had them delete the .project file and that has not fixed the issue. We are all on the latest version of 5.9.1. This is only occurring for them as well as another tester and myself have been able to open this project fine.
I have gotten the log file from them for help on this issue: ATT63828.log (525.0 KB)
Any pointers and suggestions are appreciated,

Try with making “Read only” option disable.
Go to project folder->right click-> properties->deselect the read only option and apply all.
Try now importing, worked for me
