Katalon Studio threw me out and no longer allows me to open it!

I was working on my code and for some unknown reason, Katalon told me that it will close in five minutes. After that, when I tried to open it again, I got an activation window!!! I added my email and my password but then I saw a message that something is wrong because I have try to login many times(!!!) and that I have to goto https://testops.katalon.io/ etc. I did all this annoying things ( :-1:) and now, when I am trying to open it, says Invalid credentials!!!

What is this???

I did reset my password and after some tries I managed to pass the activation… I don’t know if that’s what needed to be done, I am just saying…

Same here, enterprise license and can’t work…

Just got a notification from Katalon that the issue has been resolved.

We are having the same issue - pending a critical delivery today. We have a full team down, can we pls get an eta on this being resolved?

I agree it’s beyond annoying when this happens. I’ll move this thread to Bug Reports.

Hi,

I’m using right now the KS 8.2.5. In the last few weeks KS forces logout very often and for the second time it says that the credentials are invalid when I can login in katalon tests ops. I have reset the password several times and the problem remains.This is very frustrating because it prevents me from working. I’m not the only one having this problem often…

Katalon studio asks for login frequently and when trying to login , it throws ‘please make sure your credentials are valid’. This is happening many times in a day and not able to work properly. someone please help on this

Im using katalon 8.2.5
Im able to login Testops and analytics without any issues

I need someone that works for Katalon to tell me why I am automatically logged out of Katalon on a daily basis and at random intervals. I should not have to enter my credentials multiple times per day.

I am warned that Katalon will automatically shut down in 5 minutes.

Katalon polls activation servers in the background in order to make sure someone isn’t getting something they didn’t pay for. This polling routinely fails (somehow this is a problem in Katalon, not the activation server or the network).

It happens every time after your computer goes into sleep mode and (for me at least) every 15 minutes regardless.

Katalon support recommends EVERYONE not use the current version of Katalon (8.2.5). They have made it clear that they DO NOT intend to issue a critical bug fix. From Katalon support:

“We plan to add a retry option when the connection to the licensing server fails in upcoming releases.”

To recap:

  • The problem will be addressed in a release as if it were a minor bugfix and not the critical, work-stoppage flaw.
  • The recommended fix is to DO NOT USE THE CURRENT VERSION OF KATALON because it is broken.
  • The problem only exists because Katalon needs to make sure, EVERY FIVE MINUTES that you are not stealing precious minutes of their flavor of Eclipse.

Other recommended fixes that do not solve the problem:

  • Check you internet connection :slight_smile: :slight_smile:
  • Don’t let your computer go to sleep. :slight_smile: :slight_smile:
  • Use offline license. (Did not resolve the issue in my experience.)
  • Don’t use their current product.
  • Wait for the next minor or feature release.

However, can you document your affirmations?
eg:

From where such came? A real source or just your insights?

I received the same copy/paste from 17 days ago in a support ticket created today. Can you demonstrate that this is being treated as anything other than minor?

Edit: I am just now seeing this link, which is NOT ACCURATE. The problem is now WORSE “Invalid credentials” message when activating Katalon Studio. – Katalon Help Center
