Starting to think my Windows 10 Laptop in the root cause!
i have borrowed my wife’s Windows 10 laptop - hopefully she has a different version of the Windows 10 O/S…!
i will let you know what i discover…
I did notice my build number was different to yours… but only a bit.
My wife’s laptop is Windows 10 Version 1809 Build 17763.1217…

Ok, so the “BrowserTestEQM” Test Case which I created on my wife’s Windows 10 Laptop that now has Katalon Studio v7.7.2 running Chrome v86 succeeded, which means that there is either an issue with my Laptop’s version of Windows 10 or there is something else that is installed/configured on the laptop that is getting in the way!
Please let me know when you have a Windows 10 Laptop with Version 1903 - Build 18362.959 of Windows 10, or a reasonable equivalent available, that is successfully able to run a Test Case using the Chrome v86 Browser…
Then I will see if I can cause my Windows 10 Laptop’s O/S to be changed/repaired so that it is useful to me for test automation…
Thanks again for the excellent support helping me to discover that the “Pilot” between the chair and the keyboard may not be the root cause in this instance, it may just be the Pilot’s Laptop!
If you haven’t invested too much into the laptop, you could do a system repair on it.
That’s not going to happen here. Maybe someone else has it…
neah … takes too long and there is no guarantee that the restore point is not already messed
@David_Edmondson if i will be in your shoes i will do a fresh windows re-installation (format everything, install it from scratch using the latest available on M$ official channel > use Media Creation Tool).
My windows 10 is usually up to date and katalon is working just fine (lazy to reboot into it right now to check the build but shouldn’t matter as long as chrome is installed right and you don’t mess with any other obscure settings)
That’s REPAIR not restore.
in M$ terms a system repair will do a restore in fact 
(or at least is the first option they usually provide)
