Slack connection failed with no reason. Error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Hi all,

I’m getting below error when trying to connect to Slack (The full log is in the attachment).
It was working fine before.
My KS version is 8.5.2.

Appreciate if anyone can help on this.

Thank you for giving us the informative log. According to this article, this error due to connection to Java library / framework. There are several reasons that might lead to this issue, therefore, carefully go through all of the following approaches if any could:

Try to double check the auth token correctly, whether you can access your Slack channel through browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc) or not. If all are correct, it is the certificate problem. If it cannot be accessable, it is network issue or firewal or VPN.

  • Certificate problem: Please help us check your JRE version. If not the latest, please update it which corresponded to KS 8.5.2.
  • Network issue: Try not to connect VPN if you are using secured network. Reach out some solutions suggested here.
