iam using all latest verison appium, node, katalon studio.
on android all step more need time to running, like using pressBack() needs 10s to perform action, and other step waitElement etc.
on ios have issue using setText, when string input is ‘123456’ but in apps only set text ‘1’ then passed on log.
Could you please share your Katalon Studio version, Appium/driver versions, Xcode version, and whether you’re testing on a simulator/emulator or a real device?
Also, please provide the Appium server logs captured during the slow pressBack() execution and the failing setText() step. We can identify where the delay or failure is occurring and make troubleshooting much easier.
There can be many cause, but the common cause of this behavior is UiAutomator2 waiting for the application UI to become idle before executing the next command, which can introduce noticeable delays in every action. To reduce this overhead, try adding the following capabilities under Desired Capabilities → Android:
appium:settings[waitForIdleTimeout] = 0
appium:settings[waitForSelectorTimeout] = 0
appium:disableWindowAnimation = true
Additionally, verify that your emulator is using an ARM64 system image and that hardware acceleration is enabled, especially on Apple Silicon machines. Emulator performance can significantly impact execution speed, making every test step appear slower.
for the ios part, setText typing only “1” out of “123456” is a classic simulator keyboard thing, not macos 27. if the simulator has “connect hardware keyboard” turned on (i/o > keyboard menu in simulator) xcuitest can only push the first char. turn it off in the simulator, or add this to your ios desired capabilities so it is forced every run:
