Can't set GlobalVariable value

I add a global variable then save all. I then go to my test case double click on the value I want to set then select value type set to Global Variable then under the value I get a dropdown with the global variable I set up. I select it but my test case doesn’t update. It still says GlobalVariable.null

Annoying, isn’t it. Before you click OK on the “Edit Variable” screen, click out of the box/dropdown you are editing and onto a different blank row. That signals the variable box to register your changed input. Then click the OK button.
