Vibe Testing and Why It Matters to Our Testing Community

Lately, there has been a lot of talk about vibe testing, and I wanted to open a conversation around what it really means for testers and teams using Katalon.

At its core, vibe testing is about using AI to explore an application, understand how it behaves, and surface issues through guidance and intent rather than writing everything from scratch. Instead of starting with scripts or strict steps, you describe what you want to test, and the system helps you get there.

For many of us, this feels like a shift in how we approach testing. It is less about mechanics and more about thinking, observing, and validating outcomes. You still need testing knowledge, context, and judgment, but the way you interact with the tool feels more conversational and exploratory.

What I find interesting is how vibe testing can help in real situations. It can be useful when you are onboarding to a new product and want to understand flows quickly. It can help when you are stuck and not sure where to start. It can also support exploratory testing by giving you ideas and coverage you might not think of right away.

Of course, vibe testing is not about replacing testers. It works best when combined with experience, critical thinking, and clear goals. The quality of the results still depends on how well you guide it and how you review what it produces.

I am curious how this community sees vibe testing.

Have you tried it yet, or are you experimenting with AI assisted testing in your daily work?
Do you see it as helpful, risky, or somewhere in between?
What kind of use cases would you like to see explored with Katalon?
