As far as I examined, Katalon Studio good-old v9.0.0 does not have the problem for java.util.Date. See my report:

I compared the jars contained in the v9.7.2 and v9.0.0. I believe that I have found out what mistake Katalon team has made. Let me report it. What I observed Jars contained in v9.0.0 [Date.format_v9.0.0] v9.0.0 contained 2 jars: groovy-datetime-3.0.17.jar and groovy-dateutil-3.0.17.jar. Both jars contained a file with the same path META-INF/groovy/org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.ExtensionModule. The content of 2 ExtensionModule files are silightly different. I think that v9.0.0 would be OK for java.util.GregorianCalendar as well.

So, @281558325 might want to downgrade to v9.0.0 and try to see how it runs.
