**User information** _In case of License issue, please provide : accountID, [lidaza@eastwestbanker.com](mailto:lidaza@eastwestbanker.com)_ \ ***Summary** Unable to drag and drop Test Objects from the Object Repository into a Test Case when the Test Case is in Script mode. The drag-and-drop action produces no result. \ ***Steps to reproduce** 1. Open a Test Case 2. Switch the Test Case to **Script** mode. 3. Open the **Object Repository** panel. 4. Select a Test Object (e.g. `Object Repository/Login/Btn_login`). 5. Drag the object from the Object Repository panel and drop it into the script editor. \ ***Expected Results** The Test Object reference should be automatically inserted into the script at the drop \ ***Actual Results** Nothing is inserted into the script. ## Workarounds (Choose One) ## ✅ Option 1: Delete Explorer Preference File (Recommended) This fixes the issue for most users: 1. Close Katalon Studio 2. Navigate to: 3. Delete the file: `com.kms.katalon.composer.explorer.prefs` 4. Restart Katalon Studio 5. Test drag-and-drop again ## ✅ Option 2: Manually Type `findTestObject()` (Quick Alternative) If you don’t want to delete files, just copy-paste the object reference: _`// Instead of dragging, type:`_ `WebUI.click(findTestObject('Object Repository/Login/Btn_login'))` _`// Or for API:`_ **`def`** ` response = WS.sendRequest(findTestObject('Object Repository/LoginRequest'))` ## ✅ Option 3: Check “Link the Selected Part” Setting Sometimes the Tests Explorer setting blocks drag-and-drop: 1. Open **Tests Explorer** 2. Look for **“Link the selected part”** checkbox 3. Make sure it’s **checked** (not unchecked) 4. Try dragging again ## Why This Happens This is a **Eclipse platform regression** in Katalon’s underlying IDE components. The drag-and-drop handler in Script Mode isn’t properly registered, so the insertion fails silently * * * **Quick fix right now:** Use **Option 1** (delete the prefs file) — it’s the only workaround that actually restores drag-and-drop functionality permanently . ---

can you let us know if the issue still persists. We have tried to reproduce the issue and it seems to work okay. ---
