Test cases tracked by Google Analytics

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have come across a peculiar problem.

I received an email from a concerned colleague alerting me to the fact that we were receiving hundreds of hits on our website from Westerham. It coincided with me running numerous Katalon tests on my machine (or at least I thought it was on my machine).

Company IPs are excluded from our Google Analytics metrics - so how come each test case I run is being registered as a unique visitor?

It’s skewing our metrics real bad and we excluded Westerham from it as a temporary measure.

I used to run tests remotely via CrossBrowserTesting account, but it has now expired so I doubt it could be this. In fact, if I tried to run a remote test, it would fail every time - which is as expected as per above.

Interestingly, even if I set my default browser to Chrome or Firefox in Project/Settings/Execution (it was randomly set to “Remote” previously), it would a new visitor.

My proxy settings are disabled. I always run my tests from the top menu selecting Firefox browser manually every time.

Does Katalon use cloud service to run automated tests?

If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.

@Lilia, the only way for Katalon to use cloud service to run automation test is through remote web driver. Other than that, the answer will be no.
