Create Test - Katalon Studio

We are pleased to introduce Katalon Studio version 9.7.0 with the following enhancements:

New features

  • We have introduced Log in from browser using On-premise licenses.

  • [API testing] Introduced OpenAPI/Swagger Schema Compliance Validation:

    • Added OpenAPI/Swagger schema type in the Validation tab of a Web Service request.

    • Added new code snippet: “Response body: Validate OpenAPI/ Swagger against specification” to the Verification tab of a Web Service request.

    • Added new keywords for OpenAPI/ Swagger validation: WS.validateOpenAPIAgainstSpecification

  • [API testing] Added AWS Signature Authentication in the Authorization tab of a Web Service request.

  • [API testing] Added Digest Authentication in the Authorization tab of a Web Service request.

  • [Mobile Testing] Added a new setting in Project Settings > Test Design > Mobile to configure the default element locator value of test objects when using Mobile Recorder and Mobile Object Spy .

  • We have added new KRE command-line options to retry activating licenses several times when KRE failed to activate.

Enhancements

  • [API testing] We have added the support for OpenAPI version 3.1 in:

    • Import OpenAPI/Swagger file/URL
    • OpenAPI/Schema schema compliance validation
    • Generate API test cases from OpenAPI/Swagger file/URL with AI

  • [API testing] Added a new option in Project Settings > Execution > Web Service to enable follow redirect by default for newly created Web Service Request.

  • Improved the UI of the Project Settings > Library Management page and auto-trigger Save Resource dialog when applying changes while the project contains unsaved items.

  • [Windows Desktop testing]:

    • Improved the performance of keywords: [Windows] Set Text**,** [Windows] Set Encrypted Text.
    • Improved performance and accuracy of the keywords: [Windows] Switch To Windows Title, [Windows] Start Application With Title by supporting regular expression inputs.
    • Support starting the desktop app in Recorder when using a shortcut file.

  • [Mobile Testing] Support mobile testing with iOS 18 beta.

  • Added Chrome 128, Edge 128, Firefox 129, and Gecko 0.35 compatibilities.

  • Upgraded Cucumber library to the latest version of Cucumber 3 to fix slow performance issues when editing feature files.

Bug fixes

  • We have fixed the issue regarding error message when running tests in Katalon Studio:
Before After
The error “Invalid App ID” isn’t returned and the test will fail with the error Timeout after 15 minutes. The test will fail with an error “Invalid App ID” instead of waiting for a while of 15 minutes.
  • We have fixed the issue of syncing desktop browser version from SauceLab
Before After
Sync desktop browser version from SauceLabs and LambdaTest. Sync desktop browser version from LambdaTest only.
