Needed some help understanding the KRE needs. Currently we have 2 KSE licences and 1 KRE. We are increasing the KSE now to 6. Would we need another KRE or we can all record and excute our tests without any hinderence ?

If you want to schedule your tests in ci before your previous run has finished , you need extra KRE license as the license captures the machine id before running any tests and if any other tests are already running using KRE , your run will fail due to KRE license not being activated
So, in short , 3 parallel run need 3 separate KRE license , N parallel runs need N separate KRE license
But if your runs are scheduled at different times , 1 KRE would do the job
The only rule KRE follows is before it runs it verifies if the license is not being used anywhere and if you don’t have enough quota of them

If you are aiming to execute 1 collection at a time then it will not a problem, but if you want to execute parallel , 2 collection at a time or 2 times a single collection with different settings then you need more KRE, even to schedule. Hope this helps
