In the /config/.metadata/.log file I found repetitive Stack Trace recorded:

I attached the tailing fragment of .log file:

My .log file tends to be so big — due to the UnknowHostException for update.katalon.com

My PC sits behind the HTTP Proxy server of my job. I presume the Proxy might be the cause of this problem.

So does it have any ‘bad’ effects on your current usage of Katalon Studio in this case?

Actually no. Just it is annoying.

Well I think Katalon Studio trying to access our update server whenever you open it. In this case you can turn off ‘check for new version’ settings: Window -> Preferences -> Katalon -> Automatically check for new version

Vinh,

I tried ON and OFF for “Automatically check for new version” setting. Please find the attached .log files.

  1. automatically_check_for_new_version_ON.log
  2. automatically_check_for_new_version_OFF.log

When ON, “java.net.UnknownHostException: update.katalon.com” is recorded twice.
When OFF, “java.net.UnknownHostException: update.katalon.com” is recorded once.

I expected to see none when OFF, but I actually saw 1 thrown. Strange…
