Hi Community members, :wave:

Today, we’re and the Katalon Product Support team are thrilled to introduce the new ideaExchange website, enabling you to have your voices and ideas heard by our Product team.

1. What is ideaExchange?

If you’re one of our Enterprise users, then you’re probably familiar with the current ideaExchange. However, to our free users, the ideaExchange site is where you can share feature request ideas with other Katalon users and the Katalon Product Managers, and through voting, potentially have your ideas implemented in future releases of Katalon!

We’re now opening up ideaExchange to our free community users so that they can not only take part in voting for the ideas that matter most to them, but also suggest new ideas and directly influence Katalon’s development and benefit the whole Katalon user community!

2. How ideaExchange works (in a nutshell)

  1. You submit your ideas via the link below:
  2. You get as many people as possible to upvote your ideas, so that they’ll get noticed by our Product Support and Product teams.
  3. Once your idea get enough upvotes, our Product Support team will review it and then hand it over to our Product team for consideration & development

3. How to submit your idea(s)

:information_source: Notes: Before posting your idea, be sure to look around or use the search function to see if other members have submitted similar ideas or not.

  1. Click “Submit your idea” on the top banner.

  2. You’ll automatically scroll down to a form that enables you to search for existing ideas to see whether your idea(s) have been raised by another member or not.

  3. If your idea(s) have yet to be raised by anyone, a Submit your idea button will appear, enabling you to create a new one.

  4. A composer will appear to let you input your idea’s information i.e. related product, title, description, and more. Be sure to provide as much information as you can at this stage.

  5. Once you’re done, simply click Submit

  6. You can then view the idea that you’ve just submitted by clicking Go to my idea

4. How to view & share ideas

  1. Simply click on an idea that interests you.

  2. On the next page, click on Share this idea

  3. On the pop-up that appears, you can copy the URL or share it directly to your social media platforms of choice, and even share the idea back to our forum!

:information_source: Notes: When you share the idea(s) to our forum, a corresponding thread will be created in the Feature Requests category, in which you can provide more information & encourage other members to check out the ideas and go vote.

For more questions about ideaExchange, how your ideas are processed and chosen for implementation, and more, we’ve included the Product Support team (@support.squad) here in this thread who will be able to answer your questions.

The Feature Request category will still remain on our forum. However, moving forward, we recommend you to raise any feature requests that you may have via the ideaExchange portal for the best visibility and support from not only our Product Support team, but also our Product Managers as well.

Does this mean forum members need to check in both ideaExchange portal and feature request here?
