Hi gyus. I found, that there is no way to export and import settings, which I find totally unaccaptable…
I tried to follow this thread: Export/Import Katalon Studio Preferences and Editor Settings - #9 by vishalk.singh
I copied that config folder, but it certainly haven’ exported my General/Keys settings, neither Groovy/Editor/ContentAssist settings. So I guess it’s not working at all, and it doesn’t export and import any settings…
And there is actually another problem, that these settings, in General/Keys are always resetting after restart of Katalon Studio, so these settings don’t even persists, which is totally insane…
Hey come on developers, please repair this, because it’s crucial thing to have, settings that works…
This does not tell me what you have found. Which file are you talking about? Which property in the file are you talking about? What did you expected to see, and what did you actually see? How did you operate the system “to export it”? Please provide step-by-step procedure to reproduce what you found problematic.
There are Katalon Studio Preferences. As I seems to understand, all of them are located in config folder in Katalon Studio folder.
So I haven’ found any way to export these settings in Katalon Studio, there is only option to Import them in File / Import Settings.
But ok, I guess, when I just copy that folder, that’s the way how i can save my settings. But then, when I import them using that option File/Import Settings, they don’t import…
And I found, that settings in General/Keys are always resetting after each restart. I need to unbind some hotkeys that using alt, because I use Slovak Keyboard and need some alt combination to write certain characters… That’s why I have to always unbind these hotkeys that uses alt after restart of Katalon Studio… And it’s very annoying. I can’t believe, such a fundamental thing as Settings is working very bad…
I am using free edition. Is it because of it?

In case you have to download the latest version from the Katalon website and want to reuse the Preferences configurations of another Katalon Studio instance already installed in your machine, or you want to reuse the Preferences configurations of your project team, do as follows:
- Rename the current Katalon Studio instance with its version number. For example, Katalon Studio 7.8.
- Download the latest version from the Katalon website.
- Open Katalon Studio, select File > Import Settings .
By the way, I have never used this, I have no idea about it. Just I wanted to understand your problem.
Yeah, I used this, but it’s a crap and it’s not working… It’s probably Eclipse bug…
I have no input about this. I would like to ask Katalon Team for help.
