I just installed OpenJDK 8 on my laptop which is running Manjaro XFCE based on these instructions… [https://docs.katalon.com/katalon-studio/docs/katalon-studio-gui-beta-for-linux.html](https://docs.katalon.com/katalon-studio/docs/katalon-studio-gui-beta-for-linux.html) which are for Ubuntu (which is based on Debian) not for Manjaro (which is based on Arch Linux). Apparently installed OpenJDK properly. The best way to execute Katalon tests on Linux is via Docker containers though. Many of them offer free plans. Is Katalon’s management essentially **un** interested in supporting Linux? I’ve seen other companies that claim “we support Linux” that, well, don’t really support Linux very well. ---

Hi, I’m presently using Manjaro Gnome edition where I have placed my Katalon install in the “/home/ **USER ACCOUNT** /Automation/Katalon\_Studio” directory. You can launch Katalon by navigating to the Katalon directory and run the executable with “./katalon”. **Example:** cd /home/ **USER ACCOUNT** /Automation/Katalon\_Studio ./katalon For convenience I created a desktop icon link for Gnome. **Create a Desktop Icon for Gnome** [Desktop Entry] Type=Application Name=Katalon\_ Studio Icon=/home/rsruser/Automation/Katalon\_Studio/configuration/resources/extensions/Chrome/Recorder/KR/katalon/images/branding\_128.png Exec="/home/ **USER ACCOUNT** /Automation/Katalon\_Studio/katalon" %f Comment=Automation platform based on Selenium Categories=Development;WebDevelopment;IDE;Utility;TextEditor; Terminal=false MimeType=text/plain;inode/directory; StartupNotify=true StartupWMClass=code ---
