Google just announced a version of Chrome specifically built for reliable test automation. Chrome for Testing ensures you can reproduce an exact Chrome version without worrying about auto updates.

This is the number one best part of this announcement:
Why? Firefox geckodriver makes the promise to allow for backward compatibility. Not so Chrome. They still don’t guarantee backward compatibility but they are promising to ship the correct ChromeDriver with each ChromeForTest release.
