If there is a date field in an application, need an option to select a Type as Date variable. Currently, this feature is missing.
This is not a bug.
There are two points to be made here:
1 - In HTML, all “fields” are actually “text” (i.e. strings). All values stored in them are strings. Period.
2 - In the image you pasted, Katalon is being used to write a line of Groovy script. Groovy is not HTML.

Another issue with this would be that there are countless date formats that a date “type” would need to account for. The responsibility of giving a date in the correct format essentially must be on the user.
