Thanks for showing interest in our product.
For your concern, Katalon Studio normally tries to capture as many properties from the object as possible (see attachment for one example). You can also specify the fields to be used for identifying objects by selecting at the Detect Object column. By default, Katalon will try to check all the necessary properties for identifying (this usually includes ‘xpath’).

It is possible to configure which property is using by default as Detect Object column?. It is currently set up by
Example “tag” and “Expath”, we need it to be another property and we do not want to enter object to modify this property.

The reason we prefer selecting “tag” and “xpath” by default is that these properties are mostly capturable when Katalon spies objects. Other properties such as “id”, “class”, “text”, “href”…might not be captured by Katalon sometimes. Therefore it may not be a good idea to pick those properties by default. Beside, “xpath” also proved to be pretty reliable for detecting object based on our internal testing. However, we will record your suggestion and will consider supporting the ability to specify default properties for dectecting objects should demand is high enough.
